Regulations about taking lithium batteries on aircraft are often reviewed, but currently, a battery of max 300Wh and a spare battery of max 300Wh may be included. The batteries in e-goes products are all under this limit.
The IATA regulations state that you must remove any batteries from your powered chair before it is placed in the hold. This is easily done with HylorAX's chairs.
What kind of batteries are used in folding powered chairs?
They are leak-free Lithium-Ion batteries which give excellent power output for their light weight.
How often can I charge the batteries?
You can charge as often as you like. The battery cannot be overcharged and the charger goes into power saving mode when the battery is fully charged.
How often should I charge it?
Charge as soon as the battery charge level has dropped to one third (three lights are on). If you want to charge more often it’s fine, the battery does not take damage from it. If the chair is in storage, we would suggest topping up the battery once every 3 months.
How long does it take to charge the battery?
Charging an empty battery takes about 3 hours.
Can I charge the batteries when it’s cold?
Yes, you can charge the battery down to minus 10 degrees Co. If you charge at a colder temperature than 10 minus, it is still possible to charge but the batteries will not be fully charged.
Is the range affected if it is cold outside?
In common with most lithium batteries, range is reduced if the chair is used in very low temperatures. At minus 10 degrees the mileage can be reduced by up to 50%.
How far will my chair travel on a full charge?
This will depend on a few factors such as user weight, gradients climbed and surface conditions, but each battery can take a chair up to 15 kilometers. Please check the Specifications section for each particular model.

To help someone choose the right wheelchair size, it's essential to assess their mobility needs (whether for daily use, occasional use, or sports/recreation, and whether primarily indoors, outdoors, or both), consult a healthcare professional (such as a physical or occupational therapist) for expert advice, and measure key body dimensions (including hip/thigh width and leg length).
